#bringbackourgirls podcast

This week at Media Machine 14, we're trying to keep the ASP community updated with developing news stories that are worth following. Below is a link to our podcast on the developing situation in Nigeria where a terrorist organization, Boko Haram, kidnapped hundreds of girls from their school back in April. Listen to our coverage here:

  1. Great job ladies! I really enjoyed the interview with the ASP student! It was nice to hear about this topic from the perspective of a peer. There was a lot of good information about the topic. I also thought that the advertising for our class was a great addition!

  2. WOW guys! This is amazing, and so so so professional. I think that Hannah does a great job tying this issue to the SPS campus. The random poll was a really good call. Did you three, or Lucy (also a brilliant addition to the podcast), ever use the hashtag at its height of public appeal? And if not, was it because you were unaware of the social media campaign, or was it because you didn't necessarily see the benefit in using it? Thanks so much guys, you did a great job.

    1. Thanks Mason. I never really used the hashtag because I didn't feel like I was well enough informed on the issue, and I also didn't see the benefit. I got most of my information from the news when Michele Obama took the picture with it.

  3. Thank you so much Mason! In response to your question, I personally never used the hash tag due to the fact that I did not have a Twitter before coming into this class. In addition to this, I had only heard of the hash tag as many of the students on the campus had, and didn't really know what it meant. Researching this topic was a great way for me to catch up on some of the critical news I had been missing due to the fact that I didn't provide myself access to this type of media!

  4. YAASSS!! Ladies, you did an outstanding job, you made it feel like an actual podcast and made it every enjoyable by the way you ladies talked about the issues. You approached the issues professionally, but still made it fun for the listeners to hear. I loved the whole "soapbox" thing you guys did, that was sassy and stellar! Overall, good job ladies...werk!!

  6. Ladies this was amazing. I love how you used real world statistics and then also gathered some from ASP. All of you were really clean and understood what you were talking about. It was really smart to bring in someone for their opinion not just as an expert. And I love the jingle!!!!

  7. Great job you guys! I liked how you had all of the sponsors at the beginning of your show instead of at the end. I heard a lot about this subject when it had first come to light but not since then. This brought me up to date about a subject which has died down in the news. The statistics were also a really great impact for the community. Lucy was also a really great addition!

  8. As someone that came into this not really knowing exactly what was happening, I have to say you guys really put all the information and context for the issue up front. A lot of podcasts expect you to already know what's happening, and it's really nice to have some background information before you start the conversations. Great job!
